It may mean you need to completely ignore the bad state it is in, and try to imagine the outcome of what it could look like.
After all your building work has been done, the house can look completely different to when you first bought it.
But that’s exactly what the DIY whiz did with her ex council house.
And she completely transformed her home after putting lots of effort into it.
Over the last three years, Biz, who goes by the name of bizbrown97 on TikTok, has managed to decorate and rebuild her dream home.

From adding an extension, to transforming her bedroom, bathroom and staircase Biz has done an “amazing” job.
And she has also brushed off comments that it’s “just a little ex-council house.”
Biz added: “You can make a house yours.”
One particular area she focused on was the staircase.

She repainted it grey and white, added lighting and frames which adds a luxurious touch to it.
Biz, who has over 13.4k followers, has lots of people regularly commenting on her videos to share their thoughts.
One wrote: “Ex-council houses can be a great plot now in desirable areas. It’s a shame you can never really shake-off the exterior. But inside, what a home!”
Another person added: “Nothing wrong with a council house.”
To which Biz replied: “I agree! They are the best! Big gardens and big drives! And they are built so well!”

And Biz replied: “It's not actually council anymore but some of my road is and everyone has looked after theirs! It’s the way it should be!”
